Summary
Lasithi is Crete's easternmost region and one of the warmest, driest corners of Europe. The swimming season runs from May to early November on most beaches, the iconic Vai palm forest is at its best in shoulder seasons, and the high Lasithi plateau itself is dramatically cooler in summer — a relief in August. May, June and September are the standout months.

Understanding the climate
Lasithi sits in eastern Crete and is one of the driest, warmest regions in Greece — closer in latitude to North Africa than to Athens.
