Συμβουλές για Οικογένειες

  • The minimum age of 16 and the length of the day make this best suited to older teenagers with genuine hiking experience
  • If your group includes younger members or mixed fitness levels, the Psiloritis summit day trip covers the Ida peak with a shorter and less demanding route

Η περιπέτειά σας σας περιμένει

Three summits. One ridge. A single long day on the highest mountain in Crete. This is the most committed hiking day trip in the Psiloritis range, designed for people who want to cover real ground on the mountain rather than simply reach a single point and turn back. The route crosses Agathias (2,424 m), Ida (2,456 m), and Stalistra (2,335 m) in a single push, following the high ridge of the Psiloritis UNESCO Geopark from start to finish . The day begins at the Migeros Plateau at 1,581 metres and climbs immediately. Agathias, the second-highest peak on the mountain, comes first: a two-hour ascent that sets the tone and opens the first wide views across the Cretan interior. From there the ridge path continues west to the Ida summit, the highest point on the island at 2,456 metres. A small stone chapel built entirely from mountain rock sits at the top. The view from here covers every direction at once: Dikti mountain to the east, the Libyan Sea to the south, the islands of Paximadia and Gavdos on the horizon, the White Mountains to the west, and the northern Cretan coast behind you. The group rests here for 30 to 40 minutes before continuing to Stalistra, the third peak, and then descending westward to the base of Spathi before looping back east to the plateau. This is a traverse, not an out-and-back route, which means you are moving forward the entire day. Your guide leads the full route in English, manages the pace across all three peaks, and carries a first aid kit. Photos are taken throughout the day so the progression across the ridge is documented from the first ascent to the final descent. The day closes with a stop in Anogia, a traditional stone village on the lower slopes of Psiloritis, where galaktoboureko made with local sheep milk is a very good reason to sit down. A minimum age of 16 applies, the maximum is 70, and a solid fitness level is not negotiable. This route earns its place as the longest and most demanding of the Psiloritis experiences on offer.
