Tips for Families

  • Suitable for children aged 10 and over, making it a good option for families with older kids ready for their first underwater experience.
  • The shallow depth (max 5m) and small group format keep the environment calm and well supervised, which helps with nervous first-timers of any age.
  • Let the instructor know in advance if any younger participant is anxious about water. The team adjusts the pace.

Your adventure awaits

Scuba diving is one of those experiences that stays with you long after you've dried off. If you've been curious about what it feels like to breathe underwater but aren't ready to commit to a certification course, this try scuba diving tour near Heraklion is the right place to start. The program is built for complete beginners. You dive alongside a qualified instructor in calm, shallow water, no deeper than 5 meters, for around 30 minutes. The focus is on the sensation itself: breathing through the regulator for the first time, hovering weightlessly above the seabed, watching fish move past you at eye level. The ratio is kept at a maximum of 4 students per instructor, so you'll have real attention and support from the moment you enter the water, not just a hand wave from the surface. The dive center sits directly on the beach in Agia Pelagia, a quiet bay 20 kilometers west of Heraklion, and has been running diving programs in Crete since 1995. Dimitris and the team work with beginners every day. Their approach is unhurried and the pace adjusts to whoever is in the water that morning. This is a beach dive, not a boat trip. If you want to go further or explore deeper sites by boat after your first experience, the Basic Diver program would be the natural next step. Free transfers run daily from Heraklion and a wide range of nearby resort areas, making it easy to join regardless of where you're staying.
